Lebowski Achievers aims to provide a playground and platform for everything that is hot and happening amongst young people of today. We want to interconnect the different forms of art, to nurture debates, to be trendsetters in the concepts of presentation, graphic design and digital applications, and bring all available media innovatively into play. De Vliegende Hollander (The Flying Dutchman) is focused on the cutting edge where literary and commercial fiction meet. The legend of the Flying Dutchman is the only myth from Holland that is universally known, and we look for stories that have the same universal appeal.

Our titles are diverse in tone, content and genre but share a captivating story, memorable characters and a strong sense of time and place. Often our books are modern myths, but originality and imagination are always in play. We acquire accessible literary fiction, upmarket thrillers, literary fantasy and graphic novels.

Carrera

Carrera, the non-fiction imprint within Dutch Media, focuses on sports, music and media. Our encyclopedias on pop music and jazz, tattooing and tennis are the best that the market has to offer.

We take the reader from a breathtaking adventure on the slopes of K2 to the astonishing eyewitness account of a soldier in Afghanistan. We look back to the hippie music festival Woodstock as well as forward to the digital world of one of the world's most popular trance DJs. We like stories, we value quality, and we always aim to produce the best books.

International

Dutch Media, founded in 2007, is a new independent player in the Dutch book market, aiming to cover all aspects of publishing. The four imprints publish fiction, non-fiction, children's books, fantasy, graphic novels and thrillers. We sell our books through both traditional and non-traditional outlets, and also publish magazines and produce films. We have, in addition, formed collaborations with important partners in the media: RTL Television, National Geographic and De Telegraaf newspaper.

Within three years we have managed to build a reputation for being a dynamic and innovative publishing house, successful not only with fiction, but also non-fiction, Young Adult books and graphic novels.

Although we are always on the lookout for interesting titles from abroad, we do have many interesting Dutch titles suitable for translation. The four imprints each publish a maximum of 25 to 35 books a year, in order to give every title the attention it needs.
Less is more, and, nowadays, less sells more!

We love good books and we love selling them. Our focus is on strong PR and marketing. We work closely with all retailers of books in the Netherlands, and have built up strong relationships with all the key operators in the business.
